It was my pleasure to teach for five years at the nationally recognized Coterie Theatre (named one of the top five theatres for young audiences in the US by Time Magazine).

Classes taught include Advanced Acting (Scene Study), Acting II (Objectives & Tactics), Audition Technique, College Search & Prep, and a musical theatre technique class I originated and developed called Acting Through Song.

The following is an excerpt from a recommendation written by Nancy Marcy, the former Education Director of the Coterie Theatre...

“When we began the Coterie acting classes (1999), I taught all of the scene study classes because I could not find a teacher who was willing to trust young actors to do internal work that I felt they were capable of doing. After I interviewed Nathan and he taught his first class for the Coterie (2006), he began teaching all of the scene study classes for the Coterie. He has a driving desire to bring truth to actors and uses the given circumstances to find each actor's unique true mode of expression. He helps actors embrace their impulses and apply them to text.”

During graduate school, I also created syllabi and taught both BA and BFA courses in Directing and Advanced Acting.
